Looking for an editor who understands the difficult process of writing? Someone who won’t change your voice, but seeks to encourage and provide thoughtful suggestions? As a writer, I know how it feels to be edited. When working with authors, I strive to be diplomatic, positive, and come alongside you as a cheerleader, not a criticizer. My feedback will always be honest, but kind.
In-depth analysis of structure, content, and character development. I also offer an hour-long virtual meeting at the start of the project and an hour-long virtual conference after completion.
Detailed editing focused on sentence structure, word choice, and clarity.
Feedback and “reader reactions” on the overall story, characters, and pacing.
Resume writing, editing, and cover letter editing or templates, depending on which package you choose.
A maximum 1,500 words per “hour” of coaching time. We’ll work on a specific component of your choosing (i.e., dialogue, pacing, etc…). I’ll assist with editing the selection and teach aspects of the writing craft, through a total of five email exchanges or one 30-minute video call to discuss your selection and craft questions.
Includes a developmental edit to help the writer distill their story to their preferred word count, a second round line edit, a template query letter for submission, and a curated list of contests and magazines to submit to.
